Fun with pushing pages to your website!
As a webmaster, your job is to maintain your website, which includes uploading and downloading files (webpages, photos, etc.)
The goal of this assignment is to create a webpage and upload it to your website with an ftp tool.
1. Design a basic homepage and save it into a file called index.html.
It should have at (at least) the following:
- a centered heading with a line under it
- a non-white background color
- a photo or two (put them in a separate folder)
- several paragraphs (fully justified)
- links to external sites that open in a different tab/window
- a centered footer (in italics) with your name and date the page was created
2. Install Filezilla and point it at your website (credentials will be provided in class).
- In the host box enter: aws.linnbenton.edu
- In the login box enter: DW1_xx (where xx is your two-digit code)
- In the password box enter: dw2010
3. Upload and verify that your new home page is on the website
- Upload your index.html and photos to your website. Drag it from the desktop to the "website" window.
- Verify that the page was uploaded correctly by visiting it on the web: (click on your student number under session 1)

Questions to think about:
- How do you update a webpage on the site?
- How do you modify a page on the website (but not on your computer)?
- How do you upload a folder (with such things as photos)?
- How do you delete a webpage (or folder) on the website?
